John paused, stepping forward to gently place his hand atop the grave while he uttered a broken sigh.

“I was so alone … and I owe you so much. But please, there’s just one more thing, one more thing, one more miracle , Sherlock, for me, don’t be … dead. Would you do that just for me? Just stop it. Stop this…”

The ex-soldier broke down then, before building himself up… and walking away from the gravestone of his best friend.

Sherlock had been unfortunate enough to witness each moment. It made this decision all the harder.

“I’ll come back, John.” The consulting detective murmured beneath his breath. “I will fix it.”

John froze, flicking his eyes back and forth between the detective and the object in question.

“Don’t even think about it.” He warned. “Sherlock. No.”

“Our dear Doctor neglected to inform me he was in town.” The younger man mused, slinking right over to the fabled police-box with a slight bounce in his step.

John followed hesitantly,

“Oh no, no no no. No. You see, this is a really shite idea. You want to know why, Sherlock? Because it’s really obviously a shite idea.”
